MOTOYAMA Naoyoshi is the representative of Palermo, a world’s cuisine factory kitchen. When he was a child, he was a latchkey kid and spent long hours in the kitchen, which made him love cooking. At the age of 19, he started to work at a French restaurant. When he was 27 years old, he was forcibly taken to India, where he was really into their local cuisines. Since then on, while he had worked and learned at Indian and Asian restaurants in Japan, he travelled around 30 countries to learn their local dishes. At age 33, he opened his own restaurant where customers can savour wines and dishes from over the world. In 2 years, served dishes from 195 countries at the events he organised. His message through his cuisines is : Food from the World Brings Peace over the World. After 17 years, he suddenly closed his restaurant for good despite it was very popular and his business was pretty thriving, which surprised us a lot. Instead he launched his business to produce his original boil-in-pouch cuisines from the world for sale. He wishes to spread histories and cultures of the world to Japanese people. Now he is pursuing powers and possibilities of cuisines from the world, and through lectures, seminars, writings, he is proactively doing his refugee relief activities as well as seeking for starvation solutions.
